ATM's Welcome

Thank you for visiting the website of Cleveland ARTCC! We are a virtual organization mirroring the FAA's Cleveland Air Route Traffic Control Center on the VATSIM network (www.vatsim.net).

Cleveland ARTCC encompasses three Class Bravo airports (Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh) but we also serve airports as far north as Saginaw, MI and as far south as Clarksburg, WV. In addition we cover traffic in the Buffalo and Rochester, NY area as well as the most southern portions of Ontario, Canada. On top of all that, Cleveland ARTCC also sorts and sequences a great deal of traffic going to major airline hubs in Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, and Toronto. No other ATC facility handles the variety and volume of traffic that the Cleveland ARTCC does 24/7/365.

Virtual Cleveland ARTCC exists to simulate the challenge of working air traffic in a low-pressure, fun environment. Our training department develops air traffic control trainees from tower controllers overseeing a few runways, through radar approach controllers vectoring planes on to the final approach, to center controllers who deal with departures, arrivals, and over flights all in the same sector! The events department puts together a number of fly-ins, inviting virtual pilots from around the world to converge on our airports and challenge our controlling skills, and also some community events, such group flights, to let us controllers have a little fun together! Controlling with the virtual Cleveland ARTCC is an educational and challenging experience, but above all our focus is enjoyment!

Our website is full of information for virtual pilots and virtual controllers which can be accessed through the navigation bar on the left. Pilots will find resources under the Flight Information portion of the navigation bar to aid in planning flights into and out of our facilities. I also encourage pilots to leave feedback for our controllers using the feedback link near the top of the navigation bar. Our forums are open for all, with registration, to participate in aviation-related discussions and our contact information is located on the Staff Roster if you have any questions or comments.

Again, thank you for visiting!
