Just throwing this out there is anyone interested in a Teamspeak Three server. I have noticed when I use Teamspeak Three the audio quality is better than Teamspeak Two. Also Teamspeak Three is newer and Teamspeak Two will eventually be phased out and will no longer be supported. If we want the Teamspeak Three server I will host it. Unless someone else wants to.

Hi Paul,

We are presently discussing the feasibility of running a new server type, and have the capability of doing so should we decide to upgrade. Thanks for the concern!

Paul,

I tried to convince Bobby to switch over a few months ago, but he wasn't convinced Wink. Teamspeak 3 has the quality of Skype, but it is still technically in Beta, which has some annoying implications. Thanks!

Still, it is not as buggy as when they released the server in December 2009. It is also easier to get support for it. As I said before If nobody wants to host it I will if we agree.

I've used both and don't really see a great deal of difference, personally.

Im half convinced that I could not understand TS3.  My main point being that I am getting old and forget things all the time.  I may forget how to sign in...

That's the point you don't have to remember a user name and password. It knows who you are by your client ID. Plus just for the heck of it I already set the server up for testing.

@Darrol,

Yes, there is a big difference in voice quality, and the way the server/ client communicates with "signing in"

@Paul,

That's a kind offer, but I believe we need to decide as an ARTCC which Teamspeak to use, which would include convincing the host, Bobby, to switch if we decide to do so.  I personally believe it is not worth the trouble to switch over, and that we should just stay with TS2.

Well then we need to figure out a way to poll people. I am just throwing the idea out there I am not trying to force us to do something. If Bob does not want to switch over I could host the server. If we all agree.

Okay I broke down Lips sealed. If anybody wants to try the TeamSpeak Three server The address is zob.no-ip.org and the port is 9988. May I remind you that THIS IS EXPERIMENTAL. So this is just what we could use.

Are we going to try at get a poll of everybody for this or are we just going to dump it. If we try to make a poll and make a choice as a whole ARTCC may I suggest that we poll through e-mail and/or through the website.

Locked this topic, only because it's something that we've already discussed outside of the forums. In the event we upgrade to TS3, we will make an announcement. Just to clarify: ZOB uses a TS2 server found at zobts.no-ip.org.
