| Welcome to the Cleveland Flight Planning Department! Here you will find links to Charts, Preferred Routes, and detailed weather information. We also have a link to the VATSIM Flight Plan Filing system below. You can also find some basic information about our Class Bravo Airports by clicking on the links under "Flight Information" on the left menu bar. |

Here is a short description of the Flight Planning Process using our links above:
First off, begin by deciding where you'd like to fly. Since weather may or may not be a deciding factor,
you should check that first. Once you have settled on your departure airport and destination airport,
click on the SimRoutes link, and then type in the ICAO codes of each airport into their respective field.
Once you see the preferred route appear, you may click on it to get further information.
Once looking at the details of the flight plan, you may check the links to charts from there, or return
to our page here and go to the charts section to review over and/or download or print them. Once you
have the charts and the routes, you should copy the route and go to the FsRoute, where you can paste the
route and then download a file for your appropriate FMS system, whether it be the MSFS Flight Planner file-type,
or PMDG, or SquawkBox (Check the FsRoute website for a full listing of supported file types).
Once you have your route, charts, and FMS flight plan file ready, you may (optionally) go the the
VATSIM Flight Plan page linked above, where you may pre-file your flight plan. There is no advantage or
disadvantage to doing this; you may just as easily wait until you connect to the server through your flight
program to file the flight plan.
If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail any of the staff members listed on the Staff Roster/Contact Us page.
